Infertility Doctor in Northern California

California IVF: Davis Fertility Center is a new clinic in Davis California. Our fertility specialist, Dr. Zeringue, is a fellowship trained reproductive endocrinologist and infertility expert. He has extensive surgical experience with tubal reversals (bilateral tubal reanastomosis or BTA), myomectomy, and laparoscopy for infertility evaluation and endometriosis. Areas if clinical interest include insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia as it relates to infertility and weight loss.

Dr. Zeringue has years of experience working with metabolic disorders involving excess insulin levels. These disorders are often referred to clinically as PCOS and metabolic syndrome X. Many women treated for these types of disorders experience normal ovulation and pregnancy, as well as weight loss and increased energy.

If you are having problems becoming pregnant, we can help. California IVF: Davis Fertility Center offers all types of infertility testing and evaluation. Our treatments range from diet changes through inseminations, and IVF with ICSI and PGD or PGS (advanced genetic testing of embryos - including sex selection for boys and girls). Donor sperm and donor oocyte options are available as well. Call today to schedule your free information session. There is no obligation!

Pre implantation Genetic Screening (PGS) is the genetic testing of a single cell from an embryo prior to transfer of the embryo to the uterus. The analysis of an embryo can be performed when the cell of an embryo is removed by a process called Embryo Biopsy. This procedure is performed by the embryologist with the help of an assistant to help prepare the cell for testing. The cell is then fixed on a slide for analysis later in the case of FISH (fluorescent in situ hybridization) or placed in a small container in the case of CGH (comparative genomic hybridization). The cell is then sent for genetic testing. Depending on the type of test, it can take 1 to 10 days to get the test results. Most tests are completed within 1-2 days and the embryos can still be placed into the uterus at a normal time for IVF treatments. If longer time is needed, the embryos can be frozen until the test result is obtained. Pre implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), or PGS is associated with a high rate of success on the first try!
